The second season of the anime “Rurouni Kenshin -Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story- Kyoto Inferno” has been confirmed to air consecutively for two cours starting from October on Fuji TV’s “Noitamina” block.
“Rurouni Kenshin” is a reanimated adaptation of the historical drama manga series serialized by Nobuhiro Watsuki in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1994 to 1999, set in the Meiji era. It portrays the story of Kenshin Himura, a former feared assassin during the Bakumatsu period known as “Hitokiri Battosai,” who now wanders as a “rurouni” (wandering samurai) to protect people without killing.
In the second season, “Rurouni Kenshin -Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story- Kyoto Inferno,” Kenshin departs from his peaceful days at the Kamiya Dojo and relocates from Tokyo to Kyoto, where he confronts the hardships alongside Shishio Makoto.
