The Apothecary Diaries just dropped its story and screenshots for a newest episode, Episode 40 “Hidden Malice”.
Story
To support Consort Gyokuyou’s childbirth, which might involve a breech baby, Maomao’s foster father and mentor in medicine, Lahan, arrives at the palace medical office.
Lahan quickly assesses the current issues within the inner palace and, as practice for the court ladies attending the palace school, creates model documents they can copy.
When the samples are delivered to the school, Maomao hears from an elderly eunuch that Lahan had done the same thing before he was banished from the palace. A strange feeling suddenly surfaces in Maomao’s mind. To uncover the truth behind this unease, she sets out to visit someone.
