The third season’s premiere episode, Episode 51, takes place one year after the battles in the Sanctuary. Subaru, now living peaceful days alongside Emilia’s faction, finds this peace abruptly shattered by the arrival of a letter. Delivered by Anastasia’s envoys Joshua and Mimi, the letter is an invitation to the watergate city of Priestella, where a merchant in possession of a magic stone sought by Emilia is said to reside. Awaiting Subaru and his companions in Priestella are familiar faces from their past.
